Akikonieya was just finishing off his second rabbit. He lay a few meters away from the river to avoid the spray while he tore the meat away from the plump carcass. The first rabbit had gone down bones and all but now the gold and russet Griff had taken off the cutting edge of his hunger he could go about enjoying this one. Akikon did have to wonder as he tore out another strip of flesh, how rabbits ever managed to survive. They were stupid creatures, had no real defensive means other then running into a hole. A hole that was all too easy to brake into when dived on top by himself. Akikon hadn't even needed to kill his meals, they were killed by the crushing fall of earth. Still they had there uses he thought as he tosses back his head and swallowed down the last of the fury creature. His meal was followed up with a careful drink at the river. Akikon wasn't that keen on getting wet and even if he was this was certainly not the place any sane Griff would chose to take a bath. The water rushed past him faster then he could guess, no not a good swimming spot at all. With his hunger stated and his thirst quenched Akikonieya got to work on one of his favoured past times, preening. There was little more relaxing in life the going through your feathers and keeping them in good working order. So from wing tip to wing tip the male began a calm but through check through and groom. With winter approaching and already the cold winds and snowy weather increasing in their strength and regularity Akikon knew he would need to make sure he stayed as warm as possible and in good flying condition. Maybe he should winter in these parts, he thought as he passed a primary wing feather through his beak and repaired any splits in its weave. It seemed nice and quite here and food seemed to be abundant. Yes, maybe he would. Number of Words; 346 Things To Know; He has yet to met any griffs in this area, he thinks it almost deserted. Character; Akikon Anything Else?; He is pretty relaxed at the moment and lost in his own thoughts, the river drowns out most sound too.

Fyra soared along the myriad wind currents, feeling them ruffle her wing feathers like a soft caress. Squeak chirruped and flicked his tail, letting her know his thoughts.
"All right, all right, I'll set down," she replied with a sigh. Much as she loved the little creature, he could also be a pain. Especially when he was hungry or a lovely female squirrel had come into sight. She grumped a bit, but drew into a slow downward glide, the river in sight below her.
Squeak ran up and down the length of her back, before settling again on her shoulders. Fyra was used to the antics of the squirrel, and so took no notice. She was watching the sharp gray of the boulders against the fresh green of the grass and the flash of yellow leaves scattered across the ground, instead. The sun was warm against her back, her shadow running dark along the ground.
She pulled up abruptly, Squeak chirping a complaint. She ignored him, eyes focused on the gryphon below her that she had just spotted. Fyra slowly circled, hesitating. Did she descend and greet him, or simply move on? It would be easier to simply sail on, avoiding the gryphon and set down farther away. Or...maybe she could set down nearby but not too close. Deciding that that was the best course of action, she glided lightly down a distance away, but still within speaking distance of the other.
Her hind legs touched down, and she held for a moment, her wings fanned out to the sides like brilliant red flames, before settling all four legs down and closing her wings with a snap. She circled cautiously, on guard against strangers and predators. The land around the river was usually fairly quiet--outside of the thunder of the Teradic River itself.
Squeak lept down and went flying away across the ground. She let him go, knowing he would be back soon enough. In the meantime, she was left with the awkward moment of being in sight of the stranger, but unsure of herself. She had been driven off before; she didn't want to experience that again. Still, this was a good land, and she didn't want strangers moving in without knowing that this area was her home, too.
She could and would fight, if she had to. She felt herself deflate. The problem was, she didn't want to; she'd never liked fighting. She had no desire to harm any other creature. Look at Squeak, her small fluffy companion. He could have been dinner in one bite, but instead they'd become friends. She considered that thought. Well, maybe she could become friends with this gryphon, too.
Hesitantly, she stepped forward, ready to call her greetings, and then stopped, turning her head aside. She was suddenly embarrassed and unsure of herself. What if he didn't like her? What would she say to him, anyway?
Number of Words: 493 Things To Know: Fyra wants to say hello, but is unsure of herself. She probably needs a friendly greeting, first. Character: Fyra Anything Else?: Nope.

Akikon notices the change in wind from the wing drafts off Fyra's landing before anything else. He hadn't been expecting to see another Griffin around here but it made sense that there would be others in such a rich area. A Sutla by the looks with strong red and gold colourings, something he himself could appreciate.
The other Griff seemed unsure of moving closer and in truth Akikon wasn't sure what to make of her, was this area part of her Grex's territory? If it was he would have to watch his step. Akikon Lifted himself into a sitting posture and faced the stranger to show that he acknowledged her but he also dropped his wings slightly to display himself as not being a threat. It had been a while since Akikon had had any kind of talk with another of his kind, she might even be able to give him a little information as to what he could expect to find in this area.
Number of Words; 169 (sorry) Things To Know; He is not a big Griffin but he is well proportioned. Don't let Squeak get too close without warning Akikon first - yum snack time. Character; Akikon Anything Else?; nope

Fyra saw the male gryphon turn towards her, and then drop his wings in a friendly gesture. Well, it would be rude to ignore him, as she'd clearly been seen...And he was offering a wordless, friendly greeting. Clearly, the mouse was now at her feet.
She walked towards him, waiting until she was close to speak. The river drowned out most sounds, and she didn't have a loud voice, anyway. When she judged herself close enough to be heard, she sat on the rock splattered grass, curling her tail neatly about her paws. She twitched her ears forward.
"Hello, Kacha. It is rare to see other gryphons about the river--especially this time of year."
Fyra went for an unusually formal greeting, thinking it better to politely call the stranger the formal word for loner rather than simply, "stranger." She felt herself at a slightly awkward loss for words, aware that often times others drove her away when they knew about her gift. She thought it frightened them, though in truth it frightened her more than anyone else.
"I am called Fyra, Fyra-Retha-Kalis." That was her full name, and not one often used. She wasn't even sure if, having been driven out of her home, she could still claim it, but she used it anyway.
She wondered briefly where Squeak was, thinking that the other gryphon would be more likely to eat him than see him as her friend. And in that, again, was she strange. What sane gryphon owned a pet? Especially a pet that should have been a meal, not a friend. Fyra felt herself hunching forward slightly, in a protective posture. Oh, this was a bad idea! Surely, once this gryphon saw how strange and unnatural she was, he, too, would drive her away. And then where would she go? She should never have stopped, should have just kept flying...
Number of Words: 319 (sorry it's so short; it's late and i don't have much time to put up a good post) Things To Know: Poor Fyra is used to being driven away and disliked, so she's feeling even shyer than usual. She's naturally rather shy, anyway. Character: Fyra Anything Else?: I could have sworn I had posted a reply already. I must have somehow not actually posted it...Well, anyway, here's the reply.
