Deities Lakri: The high god and father of Farlin and Zanic. He is the protector of all that is good and well. His sign is three stars organized like points of a triangle. Many believe the Triad Temple ruins were built by other creatures to honor him, hence the reason healers train there. His mate was known as Talinie, her sign that of the crescent moon with a wave running through it. Female healers often turn to her guidance even if she isn't recognized as one of the deities of the current religion. Lakri and Talinie both appear as silver gryphons, laced with ice crystals with bright blue eyes and gleaming talons and beaks. Talinie is rare to see, treasure an encounter with her for it is not likely to happen again.
Farlin: A mischievous and childlike gryphon, Farlin is the deity of all things nature and all things involving the continuation of generations. She is easily angered and just like a child, will find a way to reign chaos on the one that upset her. Farlin guides and protects mothers from the moment they conceive to the day they shoo their young from the nest at two years of age. Sprites, a tiny, nasty version of a fairy, are often seen sleeping in her feathers and fur and buzzing around her head. Her sign is a five pointed leaf with a dew drop in its center. Few choose to worship her because of her overreaction to a mild upset.
Zanic: Lord of the Fallen and the dead, Zanic is openly worshiped by few since those few fear rejection by pure or neutrally aligned grex mates. Rejection usually involves death. Zanic appears as a skeletally thin gryphon, his fur and feathers hanging off in clumps. His voice is like the grating of nails on a chalkboard and he constantly emanates fear. Those that follow him remain true so that they do not meet an early demise to become complete slaves all the faster.
Things To Know
Ervos- The Ervos are the griffins' equivalent of a god/gods. All griffins believe that from the moment of their birth, the Ervos have set down a path for them and guide and help them down that path. It is the Ervos that guide those that have gone astray back to the right path and to banish those that have gone to far astray. Sirto is the Ervoss' realm and Nquat is the home of the fallen.
Istra- The Istra are looked upon as a group of foolish griffins that are now twisted and corrupted to the point that they no longer appear as griffins. At one point they were Regalt, but they followed what they believed were the true Watchers who were nothing but figments of imagination and fell. Now they guard Nquat against intrusion and prevent those that have fallen from leaving. Sometimes they send a fallen back to the earth or keep a griffin from rising to Sirto and those that are sent back or kept from passing become known as Nasmi. Nasmi are extremely rare and there are usually an equal amount of fallen and chained creatures.
