Grey feathers and black pelt stood out against the dull grass. All of it rippled in the light breeze. It carried sweet scents of fall mixed with a little bit of nip of the winter that would be approaching soon. Fall was upon the gryphons, and this one knew it. The black and grey creature looked around with it's yellow eyes and yawned. It was called Tipu. He was a falcon jaguar mix, and was medium sized. Black rosettes spotted his falcon like forelegs, while his hindquarters was black with darker rosettes blending in. A tan breast coat of feathers was spotted with black feathers.
With a sigh, Tipu stretched out, his wings reaching out to their full 19 feet. He wasn't hungry yet, but was wondering weather he should go take down one of the antelopes in the distance. Deciding against it he sighed as he laid down, the top of his figure clear against the grass. He didn't care, he felt safe at the moment. The sun was warming his coat and skin. The black tail of his flopped happily from side to side.
His ear tufts pointed up sudden;y as he heard a whooshing sound. Was that just the grass or was that wings? Straining to hear the noise Tipu remained still "Who is there?" He called out in a baritone voice. The tone curling and bubbling in half curiosity half warning. Tipu could fight, and wasn't afraid to if necessary. His yellow beak clicked shut as he stood up to look around.
