General Rules

[/li][li] No liquid time
[/li][li] No Power playing (Power playing is when you control another person character, or do not give the other Role-Player a chance to react.)
[/li][li] No God modeling (This is when you make your character invincible, otherwise known as god like)
[/li][li] Use complete sentences, good grammar, and spelling. There is a spell checker at the bottom of your post. We can and will understand a few mistakes every now and then.
[/li][li] Cursing is allowed IC, just don't go overboard or I will take this away.
[/li][li] Post in the Leaving/Absence board if you will be gone for longer than 2 weeks or are leaving for good.
[/li][li] Posts should be at least 150 words, there is a word counter at the bottom of your posts. To help lengthen your posts, try adding your characters thoughts and feelings, what's going on around them, what the weather is like, etc. Be creative! Still struggling? There is a RP school to help you out if you need it.
[/li][li] Speech should be bolded with some sort of indication that it is speech. Thoughts should be italicized with, again, some sort of indication that it is speech.
[/li][li] Try to make your font size, size 1. Also, it isn't required but makes it look neater, place it in blockquote or center it.
[/li][li] Use "ooc" when going out of character
[/li][li] No chat speak
[/li][li] Be respectful
[/li][li] Don't kill another persons character unless they have given you permission or they (females) have entered FB boards where it doesn't matter if they said "don't kill her". If you didn't want her killed, why did you place her alone in the FB boards? I don't want to hear any whining about your character getting murdered without your consent in a FB board, I did warn you. If your character is killed elsewhere without your consent, address a staff member and they will take care of it.

Creation & Characters

[/li][li] Firstly, any big cat can be used for the cat half of your gryphon just as any eagle, hawk, or falcon can be used for the bird half. These aren't traditional gryphons, so feel free to mix and match to find what suits you. If going traditional is your thing, then go ahead and do it!
[/li][li] Don't post IC until your character has been accepted, any posts you make IC before this time will be deleted without warning.
[/li][li] Please no Mary Sues, not everyone is perfect and trust me on this, those that have flaws are often the best.
[/li][li] Follow the form please, you won't be accepted otherwise.
[/li][li] Please make your display name the name of your character.
[/li][li] Eight Characters are allowed per person, but I suggest starting out with one or two. Start out with one or two because we require, based on our system of classes and experience points, that you make an account for each character. I know this is a pain but it's even less of a pain than having to divide experiance points between 2+ characters. Get my drift?

Fighting

[/li][li] Fights can be as graphic as you like
[/li][li] Both genders may fight, either each other, or the same gender.
[/li][li] Fighting can be done over just about anything. Whether it be over land, a mate, etc.
[/li][li] A male will not always win over a female
[/li][li] There are 2 dodges and 4 hits in a fight
[/li][li] No GM or PP!
[/li][li] Fights are judged off of the stats, health, and the rpers ability to role play.
[/li][li] Males and females may fight for territory, but they must wait until they hit breeding age at the age of four for females and three for males.
[/li][li] There will be a starting post for each player showing they are ready to fight before the fight begins. The first person to post is the first to attack.
[/li][li] This will be the format used for judging, each category is worth 10 points;

Role playing Ability;
Stats (Age/Experience, etc.);
PP or GM?;
Quality;
Spelling/Grammar;
Total;

Joining/Starting A Flock

[/li][li] You cannot just join a grex(flock), when you first create an account you will be listed as a roamer until you join a grex. "See the Joining thread for more information"
[/li][li] You can stay forever a loner if you wish but stay away from flock territory's since you will be seen as a threat unless you are attempting to join.
[/li][li] If you wish to become the Natuk of a grex, place a 200+ word post in the land that is available for claiming. You will also need at least two other gryphons who should reply to your thread and add the note that they support this natuk. One of them should be your future deputy, but doesn't have to be. If after five days no one else has placed a challenge against you, the land becomes yours and no one may challenge you for a whole season. You may now accept other gryphons seeking acceptance into your flock.
[/li][li] Female or male may start a grex but the females rule will not stand firm until she has a mate to back her up just like a males won't stand firm unless he assigns a deputy.
[/li][li] To start a grex you must be three years old for males and four years old for females.

Breeding & Birthing

[/li][li] It would be preferred if you didn't do it graphically, but if you must simply PM me for the password to the graphic breeding board. Don't bother asking for the password if you profile age states that you are 13 or younger and don't let me catch you giving the password to other members. The consequences will be severe.
[/li][li] Force breeding is permitted but not recommended since 1) the chance of young is low, 2) Gryphons mate for life and if you mate an unmated female you two are stuck with each other for good, no matter how much you hate each other, 3) if the female is mated I won't doubt it if you piss her mate off and he comes after you. Don't say I didn't warn you. Also, FB will only occur in boards marked by "FB". Females who don't want to be forced, don't go there unoccupied. Please also note that males may force females within their own grex and that they can no longer force after they are mated. (which is also why their victims tend to be killed)
[/li][li] There is no love at first sight! You must have been in at least two threads with each other before mating, and realize that once you mate you are forever stuck with each other until one of you dies. Also, in the Audition for Kits, post the links to the two threads showing that you have completed that aspect.
[/li][li] Breeding is all year round but not recommended in winter since times are hard. Your eggs will be laid one season after mating, and they will hatch one season after that. You may skip this if you wish and just have the kits be there.
[/li][li] Staff will decide the number, looks, gender, and kind of gryphon hatched. Since they are magical creatures, not all the kits will be anything like the parents.
[/li][li] Breeding may be done anywhere.
[/li][li] You do not have to RP the breeding process, whether it's the fade in and out thing or the rather graphic stuff, so long as their is an OOC agreement between the mother and father.
[/li][li] You can't have two of your characters fall in love, it would get awfully boring RPing alone.
[/li][li] You don't have to RP the egg laying process.
[/li][li] Staff may not make their own young, they must leave it to another staff member.
[/li][li] Anyone within a grex may breed unless the Natuk restricts it and then he has the right to kill the young and/or banish the parents.

Males

[/li][li] May accept new members so long as they are the Natuk
[/li][li] May claim a territory or challenge for a territory at the age of three
[/li][li] May force breed (read warnings) and kill their victim without consent of the player. If you didn't want her killed why did you place her there alone?
[/li][li] May kill unwanted young in the grex so long as they are the Natuk.
[/li][li] May not breed until 3 years of age

Females

[/li][li] May claim a territory or challenge for a territory at the age of four.
[/li][li] May adopt abandoned kits
[/li][li] May be killed without consent if in the FB boards without an escort
[/li][li] May not breed until 4 years of age

Kits

[/li][li] May be adopted
[/li][li] May run away
[/li][li] May not claim land or challenge for it
[/li][li] May be killed by the Natuk without consent
[/li][li] Aren't playable until they are at least a year old

Other Things To Note

[/li][li] Grex's are made up of both females and males
[/li][li] All members in a flock are allowed to breed unless the Natuk disallows it. It is always best to check with the Natuk and Mina just in case.
