There was a feeling of great heaviness in the brutes wings as he flew, he knew that had Baelath still been alive he would be singing and speaking and doing all manner of things to entertain them on their flight. His sudden passing was painful for the lone male that now flew the skies in silence and alone. He had for a while had a friend, and it was riendship he had always treasured most. But now he simply wasn't sure what to do, or where to go. He had planned to take Bae and go into the forest, find a grex and have them join it. But he was beginning to realise how scarce Regalt seemed to be, even in this place where few threats lived. He gave a little sigh as he let his wings tilt to swing him round and begin his desent.
The ground grew in size, the air rushed through his feathers and fur. He kept his forpaws tucked in and his hind paws drawn out behind him. As he grew ever closer to the canopy his wings suddenly tucked right into his body, so as not to strike them against the trees or branches. It as a clear fall right into the forest and his wings opened up before the forest floor and his paws dropped and took his weight in the quick landing. Golden amber hues gazed intently about, orbs wide to take in more of the light. He had falled into a forest that kept a deep twilight look, the little light that passed through in rays of gold and the rest of the forest deep colours of brown and green, but occasionalyy touched by the light and flecked into amber and all manner of other colours that reflect to the setting sun.
Uneasily he shifted forward, he would have felt better if Baelath was with him, but it could no longer be. He was dead and Deki was sure of it. He made his way through the forest paths, sniffing at the plants and tree trunks tentitively with his beak. Flicking his auds this way and that, trying to find some manner of scent or sound or sight that would indicated other Regalt. But there was nothing, nothing showed anything. It seemed greatly unlikely that there was anyone there. He slumped to his haunches and raised his head, looking up through the light dappled canopy. He gave a call, a sort of eagle shriek and settled himself down for a wait. Perhaps he could find a leader of this place, or perhaos he would come to become leader of this place.

Baelath woke, dazed, at the edge of the forest. He slitted his eyes against the blinding sunlight. His head ached, and a screaming, burning pain was cutting through the thick fog in his mind. He moaned and moved each part of him individually. Front legs.... back legs.... head.... wings-OUCH!!! He shifted his wings again, just the tiniest bit, and they felt like they were on fire. He turned his eyes on them, and saw that they hung at a strange angle from his back. "Great," he murmured to himself, and that was like a clash of mountains in his ears. They're broken. Now how will I get anywhere? It hurt to think, but he had to. He lay his head down on his talons, closing his falcon's eyes. He addressed his thoughts one at a time. Okay, I have two broken wings. How? The fog began to lift as he penetrated his memory. Flipping and twisting through the sky..... Spiraling towards the ground...... Blackness. He pushed farther in his memories. Traveling with Deki..... Deki! He probably thinks I'm dead! The young Regalt's eyes shot open. He suppressed a screech and slitted his eyes. Dragging himself to his feet, he started to limp towards the forest, his wings dragging on the ground behind him, to weak to pull them in.
Number of Words: 230. Longest post I've done. Things To Know: Bae didn't die! Character: Baelath, who isn't dead!!! Anything Else? Heh heh.... Bae LIVES!!!

Deki had found himself alone for quite some time at this point, and he couldn't get the young Bard off his mind. How he wished he could have seen him falling, how he wished he could have found i\him afterwards. a cold and violant flash crossed over his mind. They soared on the air together, but through a thick white mist. The clouds had clustered rather suddenly so they had little choice in the matter unless they intentionally avoided it. He had seen no danger in flying through it, so long as he ensured he flew straight and he wwent a little ahead to reasure and lead Baelath. Once inside the thicker mist he could only just barely see Baelath.
Then there was some sort of cry behind him, but when he turned Baelath wasn't there. He thought about how he had flown around the clouds and gone up and down and left and right. But found no trace of his friend. His mind was jolted forward and he no longer relived those painful moments. The forest hard darkened, it's twilight deepening somewhat into early nightfall. He murred a soft sigh as he felt a clutching pain to his chest. But something in his mind brought to question, what had pulled him out of his memories so suddenly? Then there it was again, crunching like paws but with them came a constant scraping, rustling sound. It was almost as if something was being dragged behind whatever it was walking towards him.
Uneasily and cautiously he made his way towards the sound. He wasn't sure what he would find, or if it's intentions were good. But for a while the pounding of his heart and the throbbing of his chest and the antisipation of the events took his mind of Baelath. Though only for a while, it wasn't that long before he was again wishing Baelath could be there with him, so that Deki didn't have to feel so nervous and alone.
Number of Words: 339 Things To Know: He is apporaching Bae Character: Deki Anything Else?: OMG, Bae is alive and in despereate need of a healer, but there are no healers! Perhaps the desperate Deki will take him to a seer for help or something

Baelath, exhausted, broke through a final layer of trees and collapsed, his eyes scrunched closed, panting from the walk. He tried to fold in his wings again but was answered by pain. Only then did he notice the other gryphon. He cracked one eye open and looked. "Deki!" He gasped. He never thought he'd be so happy to see the cougar-falcon. Any gryphon, actually. "Thank the Watchers! Help me...." The young Regalt trailed off and passed out.
Number of words: 79 Gawsh, I can't write anything today! Wasn't much to say anyway. Things to know: Bae has two broken wings and a severe case of seriousness. He needs to get to a healer, and fast. Character: Broken little Baelath. Anything else?: SOMEBODY CALL GRYPHON 911!!!!

Take Strength In Knowledge But Also In Faith Winter that year had been cold, far colder than anyone could remember. Snow and ice lay like a blanket over the basin of the Teradic River, where the Malkena Forest covered the banks. A breath of air stirred the trees and plants, their dancing leaves appearing as the cloth banners of the ancient Two-Foots. The river itself was a rippling mirror that reflected the heavens above, the soft breeze ruffling its foaming surface. Creatures of the forest moved with purpose and quick steps. No one with sense cared to linger in the cold.
Above the waving trees, mid-adged Valkin Hadro stared down at the sloping land where the dancing tree limbs gave the rolling hills an appearence of movement and decided he had no sense. The trees had woken him from his warm bed beneath the White Tree with urgency and worry clear in their deep, whispering voices. Had he any sense, he would have called it all a dream and have slipped into slumber once more. But his sense of duty won out and he had heeded their calls.
.>Hurry!
>>Faster!
.<Injured, Crippled!
So many voices clamored in his head that the headache that came with it almost knocked him out of his flight patteren. Almost, but not quite. Valkin had lived a full thirty-two years and if he hadn't yet learned how to deal with the trees occasional, panicked chatter well, he would be plumb ashamed of himself. After all, being one of the few native gryphons that was actually born here had forced to learn how to survive and deal with problems all in his lonesome.
/PAIN!
This new voice slammed into his mind so hard, he was stunned momentarily and lost a good ten feet of air space. The near solid, black gryphon blinked repeatedly as he locked his wings and dove for an open spot in the trees. Down he swooped, snapping his broad wings open as soon as he cleared the lowest branches and soared down an open trail. He flapped occasionaly to stay air born but otherwise was silent as he followed the path given to him by the local flora and fauna.
Valkin couldn't understand all of what they were saying (they were all talking at once and all clamoring for his attention that it gave him one incredible a headache to try and discern anything) but he got the general guist of it. Another gryphon was injured, badly by the sounds of it and was in need of help. It seemed his the injured gryphon's partner was nature linked since a few of the trees were able to brush his mind but not speak. Apparently one of the maples nearby had taken it upon herself to lay a feeling of calm and security on both gryphons and currently a small fern was trying to say help was coming, and failing.
Must be a ranger if she can't speak to him, their minds are too weak without the right training.
His curved talons dug furrows into the earth as he dipped lower for a landing. Instead of abruptly dropping, he landed running and kept running. The druid weaved through bramble, fern and twig and only slowed when he was close enough to smell the others. Valkin realized he had come up between the two, the injured on his right and the healthy on his left. Only the injured was closer and that was the one he went to. He slipped out of the shadows so quietly and swiftly he might have been a shadow himself.
Finally, everything went quiet and he breathed a soft sigh of relief as he moved to examine his patient. The gryphon was unconscious and appeared to be of leopard and falcon origin. Similair to his black jaguar heritage, but not quite. But he wasn't intrested, or worried, about that fact. What bothered him was this small gryphon's injuries. Both wings, not one but both wings were broken. It must have been one heck of a fall. [/b] So I'll need some avens seeds, denro, frey flower, web leaf and maybe some blackfoot. He looked back at the other gryphon and called, "You there! Como here. I have questions for why you are on ancient territory and how your companion came to this state but I'll leave those for later. What I need now is help. Are you able to recognize plants well enough to fetch them for me? Go on, speak up. If you can't I'll simply have you watch him and I'll find them."Number of Words 789 Things To Know In a hurry........... Character Valkin Hadro Anything Else Gryphon 911, What Is Your Emergency? Hey Bae, I'll let it slip this time but we prefer a minimum of about 150-200 words a post. If you can't think of what to write it's okay to not post right away. =) We won't be upset. Shock and confusion caused Deki such a pain throughout his usually clear mind. It was the only time he could actually think of where he was unable to think properly about the events. He felt tight in the limbs and chest and coudln't even bring himself to speak, he could only look on at his injured friend in disbelief. He had assumed that Baelath was dead, what could be happening, how could he have survived? Uncertainly he began to shift slightly and slowly closer, looking at the obviously badly hurt figure that lay in the dappled twilight light. Bae's words finally dawned on him 'Deki!' he had said when he had seen the mountain lion gryph standing there. 'Thank the Watchers!' he had never seen Bae as the beleiving type, until now. But there was more 'Help Me..'
Deki felt guilt rise upon him like a creeping mist intent on swallowing his soul. His friend had already left the world of the consious living and entered a world of the subconsious. But that made no difference, he had failed to ruch to his friends side at once and help him, but only as he was approaching did he see the oncoming danger. A strange gryphon appeared, this one was of a jaguar type pelt, but the bird side was one he couldn't focus enough to distinguish. He didn't care, he simply had to protect Bae. The new gryphon reminded him of Blade, he snook about with confidence and ease, shifting like a shadow and making barely a sound. It was scary almost. But his feathers grew to stand at attention and he approached a little quicker.
Deki had yet to speak when he found himself being addressed, the older Regalt was taking charge of the situation, checking Bae's injuries, looking him over with that gaze that meant he was some sort of healer, but not a healer. A druid perhaps. Uneasily Deki approached a little closer, letting his limbs sway and shift to show the muscle. He felt the need to show his strength, at least that way if the male chose to fight or attack in any way he would be able to defend himself and Bae more effectively, having already infuelnced the older gryphon. But he seemed nice enough towards Bae, though he was demanding and impatient towards Deki. He felt a tug as he had to stop himself from rolling his eyes, "tell me what you need and I'll get it," he murred in that usuall calm and indifferent voice.
Deki had never before felt fear like this, he had never feared for his life or been close enough to fear for someone elses. But he feared now. He feared for his friend Baelath. In a way he felt it was his fault the young gryphon was like this and the guilt was slowly eating him out from inside, with his wings tucked tightly into his body and his muscles steadily tightening he made the last delicate few paw steps towards the unconsious young Bard. A sigh left his beak with a sound that almost resembled a whistle. The gryphons burning golden hues dropped in their magnificant shade and the gaze dropped. His optics had taken on a more dull and lifeless look all of a sudden.
"I'm sorry Bae, I'll help you get better, I promise," he murred so softly it was an almost inaudable whisper. He wanted nothing more than to lie by Baelath's side and take care of him, but lying at his side would do no good. His head snapped upright. He had learned over time about herbs, sure he knew not nearly as much as some Gryphons. But he was a forest dweller by heart, a gryphon who had spent his life learning what the plants did and what effects and uses they could have. As he began to think about it he wasn't really sure what had stopped him from attacking the strange gryphon. This stranger had freely approached a weak friend, part of his grex as it were. And he hadnt stopped him, or questioned him. As he thought about why he could only think of the voices he thought he had heard.
He was brought to remember how when the stranger had first appeared he had heard voices that sounded at points almost like they were singing. He had only ever heard such things at that moment, but it was said that some gryphons could directly communicate with nature. Was the stranger one of them? No matter what the stranger was he seemed to know what he was doing, and besides. The voices had all said 'help is here', it was odd really but for now he was free to cast the thought from his mind and get on with it. He let his head rise and his gaze meet that of the jaguar gryphon. He was waiting for intruction, but they had to be quick about it.
Number of Words: 839 Things To Know: Deki is confused a little but too anxious about Bae to care. Character: Deki Anything Else?: Gah, I'm a bit slow with muse at the moment. It'll get better eventually.

The puma gryphon seemed stunned, but not stunned enough that he couldn't show off his muscle. Valkin understood the other might feel threatened but he wanted the other to know it would be a foolish mistake to attack him so he tensed his own stocky frame, the hard muscles easily seen beneath his smooth coat. Even without the aid of the forest he could probably beat the other but he didn't want to test that fact.
"We need aven seeds, denro, frey flower, web leaf and some blackfoot if you can find any." He said, ignoring the others response to his tone
What did he care what the other thought, right now it was the young gryphon at his feet that worried him. He had only seen one case like this before, a gryphon had been slammed into a cliff by an opponet from an opposing grex and both his wings had been fractured. The gryphon never really recovered, mentally and physically. Valkin hoped that if he worked fast enough and the breaks weren't bad that he might be able to save this gryphon.
Chances were slim already, though. Shock had already set in and on closer inspection it appeared that more than just his wings were broken. His breathing was shallow and the druid could barely feel his life force. Those were never good signs.
Number of Words: 231 approximately Things To Know: horrible muse....... Character: Valkin Anything Else?: Again horrible muse and a pile of homework....Dun dun dun...... lol So sorry for the wait. I'll get the other one up soon.
