Malkena Forest Malkena means "twilight" and this thick wood on the north side of the Teradic River is always gray-green with tree shadows. The heavy canopy keeps the forest floor in a luminous perpetual twilight, allowing moss and massive ferns to cover the ground. The forest is home to a grex that nests in the trees.
